Charles David Hall Obituary

STONEVILLE – Charles David Hall, 78, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Moses Cone Hospital.


The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tyrone Staples officiating. Interment will follow in the Gospel Road Baptist Church Cemetery, 195 Meeks Road, Eden. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and all other times at the home.


Mr. Hall was born on September 5, 1945 in Surry County to the late Robert Burton Hall and Essie Marie Hall. He dedicated over forty years of service to Frito-Lay as a Route Salesman and was a thirty plus year member of Gospel Road Baptist Church, where he was the song leader. Charles enjoyed golfing, coaching little league in his younger years and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his family dearly and will be remembered for his love of music and having a song in his heart.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Hall; first wife and mother of his children, Charlotte Yvonne Harris Hall; brothers, Donald Hall, Jimmy Hall and Jay Hall; sisters, Debbie Hundley, Joann Martin and Shirley Neighbors.


Survivors include his wife, Sybil Hall; children, Lisa Dabbs (Jesse) of Ridgeway, VA, Melissa Turner (Billy) of Madison and Ashlea Staples (Tyrone) of Stoneville; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Hall of Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Brittany Hylton (Chris), Meghan Oneal Hall (Jase), Brandon Hall (Kaitlin), Krystal Beam (Tim), Stephanie Carter (Chris), Kimberley Miller (James), Anna Halsey (Santana), Phoebe Shaffer-Malloy (Jesus), Devin Cheatum, Jr. and Troy Staples; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Hall of Statesville; sister, Bobbie Jean Deal of Bassett, VA; beloved fur-baby, Chloe and many nieces and nephews.
