Deacon Francis Robert Linehan Obituary

Deacon Francis Robert (Bob) Linehan, 88, of Enfield, passed peacefully into eternal rest, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Priscillla (Pat) A. (Harriman) Linehan. Born on April 21, 1936 in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Francis C. and Anna Mae (O’Neil) Linehan. Bob was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Springfield, MA Class of 1953 and continued his education receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of UMASS, Amherst, having graduated in 1957. He had resided in Enfield for the past 51 years. Prior to retiring after 35 years of service, Bob was employed with Aetna Life & Casualty as V.P. Branch Manager at the Springfield Branch. He was a founding member in 1965 of Holy Family Church, Enfield, CT, a Right of Life volunteer, founder of RPL Golf Tournament in 2013, and a lifetime dedicated Boston Red Sox fan. Bob was a Board Member of the Enfield Food Shelf, Homefront volunteer, Aetna Retiree Group, and was very active communicant of Holy Family Church, in 1973 was ordained a Deacon serving Holy Family Church, and a member of the Holy Family Parish Men’s Club.

In addition to his wife Pat, he is survived by his six loving children: Beth Linehan of Chester, CT, Michael (Linda) Linehan of Southington, CT, David (Mary) Linehan of Enfield, CT, Karen (William) King of Enfield, CT, Susan (Keith) Parzych of Florence, MA, and Daniel (Anne) Linehan of Enfield, CT, his 17 beloved grandchildren: Meaghan, Michael, Jr., Kristina, Brianna, Erin, Eric, Danielle, Gabrielle, Joseph, Alexandra, Liam, Victoria, Jared, Kyle, Michael, Natalie, and Alexis and 14 cherished great-grandchildren: Colton, Elyse, Olivia, Brady, John IV, Aubrey, Chloe, Brooke, Jackson, Evan, Charlotte, Warren, Nicholas, and Amelia. He is also survived by a sister Mary T. LeBlanc of Enfield, CT, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special best friend / caregiver Elvis Meyers. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his son Raymond P. Linehan and a brother Jerome B. Linehan, brother-in-law Roger LeBlanc, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard & Nancy Hughes. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many caregivers over the past 5 years.

Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Monday, May 20 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Holy Family Church, Enfield, CT. (Please go directly to church) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00 am in Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield, CT. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be made to the Enfield Food Shelf, P. O. Box 699 Enfield, CT 06083-0699 or to St. Bernard School (Payable: St. Jeanne Jugan Parish, Memo: School) 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
