Laura Hughes Obituary

Laura Hughes, beloved daughter of Lee and Iva Woodruff, entered this world on February 18, 1950, and departed on May 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Laura's life was a testament to the joy of community and connection. She found solace and strength in her faith, attending services at Clover Valley Chapel in Johnstown. Her involvement extended beyond the church walls as she embraced the camaraderie of veterans, participating in gatherings at the AM Vets and VFW.

Among Laura's many passions was her love for cards. She thrived in the company of friends, reveling in the friendly competition and shared moments.

But Laura's true joy was found in the simple pleasures of life. She had a talent for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories, often through her culinary skills. Her kitchen was a hub of activity, where she delighted in preparing delicious meals and hosting lively gatherings with loved ones.

Laura's spirit of generosity and hospitality endeared her to all who knew her. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to call her friend.

In addition to her own remarkable life, Laura Hughes shared a beautiful journey with her devoted husband, Lester Hughes. Their union, spanning fifteen years, was a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship.

While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the rich tapestry of memories she leaves behind. Though she may be gone, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is proceeded by her Parents; Husband Lester Hughes; Brothers Kenny Woodruff, Donald Woodruff, Thomas Woodruff.

She is survived by her sister Elsie Sigman.

In accordance with her wishes, the family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.
