Jessie Kidd Obituary

Mr. Jessie Lee Kid was born November 8, 1945, to Maggie Mae and William Kidd in Haynesville, Louisiana. He was called to his final rest on May 8, 2024, at Union Medical Center.

He is a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1963. Jessie was well known for his athleticism and a phenomenal basketball and baseball player.

As a man who was not afraid of work and made provisions for his family; he was employed by Prescolite for more than 30 years and El Dorado Brick Company for a number of years. In the community, he was well known for his handling of business on the domino table, not only did he talk the game, he mastered it; and didn’t mind letting you know that “he mastered it.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Yoland Rose Hill and one sister, Nannie Mae Reedy.

Jessie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 29 years, Shirley Ann Kidd; one daughter, Floretta Lynn Kidd Davis of El Dorado; two sons, Jessie Orlando Kidd of Farmerville, Louisiana and Gary Fitzgerald Kidd of El Dorado; nine grandchildren along with a host of great-grands, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
