Debra Jean Hintz Obituary

Debra J. Hintz, age 63 of the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Debra “Deb” “Debbie” Jean Hintz was born October 2, 1960 in Clintonville, WI, daughter to Marlin & Eileen (Oestreich) Arndt. The family moved to Washington state because of Marlin’s service in the National Guard. She returned to Wisconsin with her family, and grew up on Little Lake Rd. in the Town of Dupont on the family farm. There, Deb spent time with her grandmother Norma Arndt, where she learned how to cook, garden, and can. She graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1979. Deb married her high school sweetheart, Todd Hintz on June 16, 1979 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion. The couple lived in Marion briefly and later purchased their home on Neitzke Rd. in the Town of Dupont, where they raised their three boys. Deb worked with her grandfather and her uncle whitewashing barns; she also worked on Todd’s family farm with her in-laws. Later, Deb worked as a cook at The Embers Supper Club, Clintonville; worked in dietary services at Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center for 16 years; and finally for the Shawano County Sheriff, again in dietary service for 24 years. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping, heading north to go four wheeling and fishing at Clam Lake; she also enjoyed turkey hunting and deer hunting with bow. Deb enjoyed feeding the birds, planting her flowers, as well as cooking and baking for her family. She loved music over the years and enjoyed attending rock and country concerts. Sports was also something Deb kept up on, watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers play. Deb’s grandchildren were the light of her life and she cherished all of the extra time she was able to spend with them. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally, and was very proud of what they have done with their lives. Deb had a great sense of humor and was always telling jokes, sharing funny memes, and always had a quick wit in conversation. She will be remembered for her “corny" renditions of “Happy Birthday” on her children’s special day; the strength she showed everyday; and how she gave her love and time away to the special people in her life.
