Carter Galick, age 82, of Edmonton, Alberta passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2024. Carter was born in 1941, on the homestead in Willow Trail, Alberta, to his parents, the late Joseph and Pauline (Fretz) Galick.


He is lovingly remembered by his niece and caregiver, Aimee Galick, and her family: Jackie, Marie, Nicole, Mark, Alex, and Avery; as well as his siblings and their children, Sharon (Alex) Fersovitch, Nick Galick, Joe (Debbie) Galick, and Louis (Helen) Galick. Carter is also remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, and uncles. He is predeceased by his brother, Brian, sister, Mary, sister in-law, Joanne, and niece, Shannon.


Carter was a veteran. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1963 until 1983. During that time, he travelled all over the world, including Egypt, Africa, Germany, and Japan. He was a peacekeeper on the island of Cyprus.


A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Connelly-McKinley Downtown Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton. The service will be livestreamed.


We would like to thank the palliative care staff at the Gene Zwozdesky Center for their compassionate care of Carter over the last few months.
