Gregory Thomas Blevins Obituary

Gregory “Greg” Thomas Blevins, 51, of Ostrander passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, May 27, 2018 at Ohio Health Hospital in Shelby, Ohio.

He was born May 25, 1967 in Franklin County, Ohio and graduated from Buckeye Valley High School in 1986. He married his high school sweetheart Kathy Spriggs on April 7, 1990.

Greg worked for the Delaware County Water Reclamation Center and he was a lifetime member of the “Fur Shed”. A true nature lover, he enjoyed hunting, including bear hunting, and trapping and snaring. An avid fisherman, he also loved taking care of his bees. His true passion was being a father to his 2 children.

He will be dearly missed and cherished by his loving wife, Kathy; proud father to Nichole (Jon) Brown of Crestline and Andrew Blevins and his girlfriend Katie Barnhart of Ostrander; brothers, Rick Hurt of Columbus, Bruce Blevins of Marion, and Sean Blevins of Columbus; father, Russ of Beaver; mother, Darlena of Florida; maternal grandmother, Mary Bailey of Delaware; mother-in-law, Bonnie Spriggs of Tiro; sister-in-law, Gwen (Paul) Stayner Mansfield of Ostrander; brother-in-law, Steve (Amy) Spriggs of West Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends including Dave, Bill and Mike.

Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Roy Bailey and his brother-in-law Bruce Stayner.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 3 – 7 pm at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William Street), Delaware, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Newhouse Cemetery, Ostrander.
