Mrs. Stephany Jean (Ross) Hinchman age 65 a resident of the Audra Park Community near Belington departed this life Wednesday May 15, 2024 at her residence, death was following a period of declining health.

She was born November 19, 1958 at Belington, a daughter of the late Evelyn Beatrice and Olan Robert “Pete” Ross. On August 18, 1975 she was united in marriage to Garry Lee Hinchman who preceded her in death on February 7, 2020.

Left to cherish her memory are four sons: Garry Lee Hinchman Jr and companion Kamie Moats of Belington, James Edward Hinchman and companion Shelby Bennett of Belington, Adam James Hinchman and wife Kelsey of Huttonsville, Zachary Daniel Hinchman and wife McKinlee of Elkins, one daughter: Tina Marie Phillips and husband Raymond of Belington. Also surviving are two brothers: Perry “Buck” Ross and wife Candy of Belington, Kenneth Ross and wife Marge of Belington, three sisters: Robin Ross and companion Roy “Buck” Thorne of Belington, Evelyn Faith Ross of Belington, and Mary Watkins and husband John of East Liverpool, OH. Additional survivors include seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters: Regina “Peanut” Werner and Locreta L. “Kitty” Ross.

Stephany attended the schools of Barbour County, she was a homemaker for many years, and was a Christian by faith. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially grandchildren, and she loved to crochet. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Saturday May 18, 2024 from 1 PM – 3 PM. Per Stephany’s request cremation will follow and a burial of her cremains will be conducted at a later date in the Concord Cemetery near Belington. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contribution be made to the Talbott Funeral Home P.O. Box 879 Belington, WV, to help with final expenses.
