Hector Martinez was born on August 31, 1941 in Arecibo, PR to Jesus and Eugenia Martinez as the first of 12 children. He passed away peacefully at age 82 on May 12, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.


On November 9th 1963 Hector married his true love Luz Neida Vazquez. They raised three wonderful children; Hector Luis Martinez, Dennis Martinez, and Luz Enid Martinez. Hector and Neida raised their kids in Puerto Rico & Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1990 they moved to Orlando, Florida and most recently were living in Ocala, FL. Hector became “Abuelo” to 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.


Hector learned about Jehovah and was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on August 26, 1976. He was a spiritual man that had deep love and respect for Jehovah and always strove to put his God first.


Hector was also affectionately known as “Jimmy”, a name bestowed on him by his granddaughter Gracie when they would play school together, her as the teacher and he as her student. He loved spending time with his family& friends and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father. He was a patient & generous man, sometimes to a fault. He loved having company and was a great cook. He loved listening to Trio music and watching old western movies. Enjoyed playing his guitar, and was a jack of all trades.


Hector was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Eugenia Martinez, and his siblings, Myriam Ruiz, Juan Martinez, Alicia Gilson, and Margarita Martinez.


Hector is survived by his loving wife Neida Martinez, his children & spouses, Hector (Tere) Martinez, Dennis Martinez and (Sandra), and Luz (Ray) Rios, his grandchildren, Dennis Oseas & Mariah Martinez, Thalia & Noah Robledo, Gracie Rios, Gabriel Quiñones, Ivarelisse Rodriguez and Reinaldo Muñiz De Romana, his great-grandchildren Dominic Robledo, and Mateo De Romana, his siblings: Nilda Martinez, Nelson Martinez Sr., Ana Guse, Elizabeth Martinez, Edie Davila, Richard Martinez Sr., and George Martinez and many nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.


Visitation Saturday, May 18, 2024 at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 380 Bluemound Rd. (Hwy J & JJ 4 block south of I 94) from 1:00 PM until time of Service at 3:00 PM. Interment in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at 9:00 AM.


“The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.”- John 5:28, 29
