Theodore P. Wyman passed peacefully on Sunday, October 4th. He died as he lived, with bravery, dignity, and surrounded by his loving family. His strength, knowledge, leadership, and sense of humor will be missed by all those who knew him. Ted was a leader, humble, considerate to a fault, honest, accepting, generous, determined, articulate, and loving. Ted was a gentleman, always displaying kindness, gratitude and grace. A decorated Vietnam Veteran and Norwich graduate, Ted's military career spanned 34 years. His passion for aviation safety led to his key positions as instructor pilot, flight examiner, commander of the VT Army Aviation Facility, and State Aviation Officer. Although he cherished his command positions, his greatest satisfaction came from teaching and mentoring his fellow guardsmen to insure the overall success of the the Army Aviation Program. His ability to lead and inspire was held in great respect by those with whom he worked. He considered it an honor to serve alongside of his fellow Guardsmen.He is preceded in death by his parents Marion and Thomas Wyman. Ted is survived by his wife, Barbara, son Ken Wyman (Danielle Sertz) of Huntington, daughter Joy Wyman (Jason Baral) of Jericho; and two grandsons, Cooper Wyman and Jeo Baral. Sister, Rosemary, brothers Jim, Peter and Mark and numerous nieces and nephews.He was an active member of the Richmond Congregational Church, Vermont Respite House volunteer, and loving caregiver for his grandchildren. He enjoyed preparing meals for his loved ones, model building, and hoping the Giants would win occasionally.A celebration of Ted's life will be held Saturday Oct. 10th at 11AM at the Richmond Congregational Church, 20 Church St, Richmond, VT. We welcome you to share stories and visit with us. A light lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Ted's name go to the Richmond Congregational Church or Vermont Respite House.
