Ethel Leona Wilt Obituary

Ethel Leona Wilt, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on April 28, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on October 15, 1942, in Morgantown, West Virginia, Ethel was the cherished daughter of Charles Lemasters and Edith Greathouse.

In her youth, Ethel was surrounded by love, growing up with thirteen siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. She found her lifelong partner in Charles R. Wilt, whom she married in Morgantown, WV. Their union was a testament to enduring love until Charles's passing on August 2, 2022.

Ethel dedicated much of her life to the banking industry, where her compassionate nature shone brightly as she assisted countless individuals. Her commitment to helping others left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Ethel's greatest joy came from her family, especially her children, Carol Sample and David Wilt, and their significant others, Phil Kleypas and Tricia Wilt. She found immense pride in her grandchildren, Michael Sample, Rachel Sample, Amanda Wilt, and Amber Wilt, all of whom pursued careers in engineering.

Ethel will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Though she may have left this world, her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She will have a private burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, where she will join her late husband Charles.
