Sandra Bracknell Obituary

Services for Sandra “Sandy” Bracknell will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Tim Hisaw officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Cemetery.


The family requests visitation be held Friday, May 24, 2024 at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.


Ms. Bracknell, 80, of Tioga, passed from this life, Friday, May 10, 2024 at The Oaks Care Center.


She is recognized for her outstanding contributions in faith, education and community service. She was a member of Tioga First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. With her strong faith and Christian values, she had great influence on her many students.


During her working career, she was a beloved educator for 34 years. She taught math, French and typing at Tioga Junior High. She loved teaching and helping her students succeed in life.


Ms. Bracknell graduated from Tioga High School and Louisiana College. She received her Masters in Education from Louisiana State University and a Plus 30 from Northwestern State University. She took great pride in supporting Tioga Schools and LSU Tigers.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Lelo and Gwendola M. Bracknell and her sisters, Vonceil Mitchell, Gwenda Snyder.


Those left to cherish her memory include her nieces and nephews, Annette Barnes (John), Ricky Mitchell, Connie Snyder, Robert Snyder, Jr. (Trish), Brian Snyder (Allissa), and six great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Leon Mitchell and a host of other family members and friends.


Pallbearers will be Robert Snyder, Jr., Ricky Mitchell, John Barnes, Brian Snyder, Richard Mitchell, Ethan Barnes, Trevor Barnes and Landon Snyder.
