Helen J. Protzman Obituary

Helen J. Protzman, walked into the Lord's embrace on the 12th of May, 2024 at the age of 86. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Helen's journey through life was one marked by grace, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to her faith and family.

Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Protzman. Loving mother of Maura Mawn, Edward Protzman and his wife Anne, Julia Douglas and her husband Robert, and Gregory Protzman. She was a guiding star to her grandchildren, Matthew Mawn and his wife Christa, Christopher Mawn and his fiancée  Shauna, Grace Mawn, Ethan Douglas, Chandler Douglas, Abigail Douglas, the late Sean Douglas, and a great-grandmother to Vincenzo Mawn.

She was a beloved member of the community at Benedict's Place. Her hands, always ready to serve, found their purpose in the work of the Lord at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. As an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Eucharist, she brought the sacred communion to her neighbors at Benedict's Place, embodying the love and sacrifice of Christ.

A founding member of the Benedict's Place Small Christian Community, Helen's legacy is one of spiritual fortitude and fellowship. Her love for travel was a testament to her adventurous spirit and her desire to embrace the beauty of God's creation. Yet, above all, it was the time spent with her family that she cherished most deeply, moments that are now etched in the hearts of those who loved her.

Helen J. Protzman, a servant of God, a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, has completed her earthly journey and now rests in the eternal peace of our Lord.

Services will be held privately.
