Terry L. Hatten Obituary

Terry L. Hatten, age 77, of Rittman, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster following a period of declining health.


He was born on June 30, 1946, in Wadsworth to the late Charles and Leeta (Lycan) Hatten and graduated from Rittman High School in the class of 1966.


Terry married Barbara Fortner on June 6, 1970, and she preceded him in death in 2023.


He was employed by Barefoot Soul in Wadsworth and Morton Salt for over 30 years, retiring in 2010.


Terry enjoyed traveling, especially going to the beach and amusement parks and the family farm in West Virginia.


Surviving is his sisters-in-law, Gloria (Sonny) Ray and Mallory Hatten; seven nieces and nephews, Janet, David, Gloria, Mark, Tami, Alicia, and Timothy Ray; and many great nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; brothers, Vernon, and Denny Hatten; and nephews, Donald Hatten, and Michael Ray.


Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Rittman Cemetery, 14300 Decourcey Rd., Rittman, OH with Chaplain Daron Butler officiating.


Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman.
