Theresa Mary Durante Lewis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and educator, passed away in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. She was a lifelong learner and dedicated educator, graduating from Emmanuel College with a degree in Biology. Theresa touched many lives as a librarian and teacher, contributing to various districts, including Harvard University and Medford Public Schools.


Theresa was predeceased by her husband, George Lewis, and her siblings, William Durante of Winchester, Vincent Durante of Medford and Patricia Adreani of Reading. Theresa’s legacy continues through her children: Deborah Haverty of Cambridge, Patricia Caldwell of Lincoln City, Oregon, Roberta Pothier of Burlington, and the late Michael Lewis of Caribou, Maine, George Lewis of Las Vegas, and William Lewis of Medford.


She was a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren: Anthony Lewis, Kristen Retke, Jack Haverty, Kathleen Lewis, Siobhan Lewis, Vincent Lewis, Gerry Pothier, and Michelle Pothier. Theresa’s greatest joys were found in the time spent with her family, nurturing her children and grandchildren with love, wisdom, and enthusiasm for life.


Theresa’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family. She will be remembered for her laugh, kindness, resilience, and passion for her kids and grandkids. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.


Relatives and Friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, May 20th from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave, NORTH CAMBRIDGE, from 10:30am-12:30pm. A Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 12:30pm. Burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.
