Linda J. Spangler Obituary

Linda J. (Staub) Spangler, age 85, of Spring Grove, passed away on May 14, 2024 at York North Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of Larry L. Spangler; together they shared 62 years of marriage.


Linda was born in York, PA on January 27, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Ruth L. (Hoke) Staub. She attended Spring Grove Area High School and was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Spring Grove. Linda was also a singer with the Bill Collin Orchestra and several other local orchestras in the 1950’s.


In addition to her loving husband Larry, Linda is survived by her children Larry L. Spangler II, and wife Joy, Carla A. Louthian and husband Shane, and Kelli L. Spangler; her grandchildren Daniel C. Linebarier and wife Danielle, Zackary J. Louthian and wife Ashley, Zachary R. Spangler, Colton M. Spangler and husband Brian, Ian N. Miller, Jami L. Tomlinson, Brooke A. Tomlinson, and Amanda Walsh and husband Ken; her great-grandchildren Austin Forry and wife Alie Lotterer, Aaron Unger, Dylan Brooks, K. Leo Walsh, Brayden Louthian, Bryce Walsh, Jude Tomlinson, Alexis R. Albert, Jordan Conley, Abigail Linebarier, Delani Grace Tomlinson, Mackenzie Louthian, and Aubree Louthian, and Anne Walsh; and her great-great-grandson Vincent Breen. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Katheen Staub; and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her brother Randall A. Staub.


A Funeral Service in celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Rev. Cathy Sherry officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Trinity (Roth’s) Church Cemetery in Spring Grove. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at the funeral home prior to the service.


In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda’s memory may be made to the Spring Grove Area Historical Preservation Society, P.O. Box 383, Spring Grove, PA 17362.
