Reecie Himes Chasteen


Reecie Himes Chasteen age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at the Terrace Nursing and Rehab facility in Berea. Reecie was born in Mt Vernon to the late Elijah and Susie Croucher Himes. She was retired from Parker Seal Co. in Berea and preceded in death by her son, Michael Chasteen, her brothers: Elijah Jr., William Himes, her sisters: Ida Todd, Gracie Himes, Bertha Himes, and Ellen Himes, her niece Sheila Smith, Nephew Jeffery Himes and sister-in-law Odessa Himes.

Reecie is survived by her sister Hazel (Leon) Smith, her brother Frank Himes, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday May 17, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Todd and Bro. John Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Davis-Witt Cemetery in Rockcastle County, pallbearers will be: Finley Blevins, Billy Todd, Eddie Todd, Trevor Todd, Jamie Todd, and Roy Todd. Visitation will be Friday from 11 am – 1 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
