Sandra Jean "Sandy" Kennedy Obituary

"But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15

Sandra Jean "Sandy" Kennedy, age 65, of Picayune, MS, entered the Gates of Heaven on Monday, May 13, 2024, finally being reunited with the love of her life, Johnny.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Elder Billy Reyer will officiate the service.

Born in Gretna, LA, Sandy was raised in Pearl River, LA where she met the love of her life, Johnny. They started a devoted Christian family, being blessed with two beautiful children, whom they raised in the Church. Later they moved to the Sones Chapel Community in Carriere, MS. Sandy was a Legal Secretary and a member of Serenity Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Sharing the Word with her family was the central most important thing in her life. Sandy's greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were a blessing to her and she took every opportunity to spend quality time with each of them. She never met a stranger-bringing love and laughter to those around her. To say she will be missed by her loved ones is an understatement, she will be missed beyond normal human understanding.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 34 devoted years, John William Kennedy Jr.; parents, Freddie Kyzar and Betty Johnson Marnell; sister, Debbie Marshall.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael John (Jamie) Kennedy; daughter, Rachel Marie (Bradley) Wheat; grandchildren, Jason Kennedy (Lawren), Bailey Kennedy (Michael), Troy Wheat, Cade Sones, Chase Sones, and Carmen Sones; great-grandchildren, Johnithin O'Berrry, Landry Compton, and Addilyn O'Berry; sisters, Kathy (Robbie) Garriga and Carol Roberts; brother, Freddie Kyzar; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to McDonald Funeral Home to help defer funeral expenses.
