Carol Eileen Hall Obituary

Carol Eileen Hall, 85, of Kingwood gained her perfectly healed heavenly body on May 14, 2024 following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.

A daughter of the late Stanley Guthrie and Grace (Groves) and Bruce Sheets, Carol was born on December 23,1938 in Terra Alta, WV. Her husband, Virgil Edward Hall preceded her in death in 2001.

Carol worked as a CNA for many years in Preston County. First, for 24 years at Hopemont State Hospital and an additional 10 years at Heartland, where she was honored in the year 1997 as employee of the year. After retiring for a second time, Carol spent much of the last two decades volunteering at Preston Memorial Hospital.

Carol was a woman of incredible faith. She worshipped and performed many roles at Kingwood Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she also served as assistant treasurer.  Her favorite role being her time spent working with the children, earning her the endearing title of their 'Church Granny'.

Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, chatting on the phone, reading her Bible, watching game shows, doing word search puzzles and attending church.

Carol was a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, and friend. Her legacy of serving others will be continued by the family who loved and honored her by continuing to serve as volunteers, teachers and leaders. Patti Davis said, "Your legacy on this planet when you leave is how many hearts you touched" and Carol touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Carol is survived by one daughter, Kathy Lipscomb and husband Herb of Tunnelton, two sons, Theadore Ringer and companion Lynn of Terra Alta, and Mark Ringer and wife Jeannie of Masontown; two step children, Virgil Hall, Jr., of OH, and Kelly Waybright and husband David, of Reedsville; nine grandchildren, Patricia (Rich) Wilt, Melissa McGilton, Kista (Ryan) Shimer, Chassity (Coy) Ringer, Teddy (Kayla) Ringer, Jody (John) George, Richard (Monique) Reger, Destinney (Bailey) Ringer, and Anthony Ringer; eleven great-grandchildren, Bailey (Violet) Wilt, Ethan Wilt, Shane (Rachael) Lipscomb, Brody Shimer, Jaydason and Jackson Miller, Ellie Ringer, Dakota, Amber, and Cameron George, and Quinton Reger; five great-great-grandchildren, Kenley, Cooper, and Kolby Lipscomb, Jaden George, and Wrenley Jennings; sisters Carolyn Unger, Mary Rodeheaver, Donna Roman, and Brenda (Rick) Buckingham; several step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was preceded in death by sister, Jane Guthrie,  and sister and partner-in- crime, Patricia Freeland; brother, Larry Guthrie; daughter,  Christene Reger; and grandchildren, Mary McCloud, Betsy Kathrin Kay Lynn, and Michael Harrison.

Family and friends will be received at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10am until the funeral hour. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1pm with Rob Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.
