Arthur D. King Obituary

Arthur Douglas King, 84, of Arlington Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 14, 2024.

Art was a dedicated family man and devout Catholic who never said no to anyone in need. Art grew up in Maywood, Illinois and attended St Mel High School, studied history and played basketball at Loyola University and earned his Masters Degree from Northeastern University. A Chicago high school teacher and counselor for nearly 30 years, Art was dedicated to helping kids fulfill their potential in life. Art was a lifelong avid fisherman and sports fan, especially of the Cubs and Cardinals. He loved his beautiful peaceful second home in Mountain Home, Arkansas and all the King family dogs.

He is survived by his beloved wife Marianne of nearly 60 years, children Susan, Timothy (Stephanie) and Mary, and grandsons Travis and Brendan, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins and his cherished dog Snowy.
