SHULL, Rose "Marie" (nee Bannister) passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday, May 13, 2024 in her 79th year. Dear wife of John, loving mother of David (Meg) of Ottawa and Tina (Larry) Babcock of Neudorf SK. Precious daughter of Isabel. Will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Dylan, Nicholas, Dorian and Brayden. Sadly, missed by her brothers Elmer (Cheryl) of Simcoe, Gord (Kim) of London, George (Kathy), John (Rose Marie) and Jim all of Simcoe. Predeceased by her father William and sister-in-law Wendy. Marie graduated from Simcoe Business College and went on to become a secretary. She worked for Mann Insurance in Simcoe, where she met John, when he came in to complain about a bill. John and Marie were married on October 14, 1967. Marie had a strong interest in genealogy and in addition to doing extensive research on her own family tree, she was an active member of the Ontario Genealogical Society for over 20 years. She served as chairperson of the OGS, Norfolk Branch for 15 years and co-chair for 5 years. Marie will be dearly missed by her family and those who knew her. Friends are invited to visitation to share their memories of Marie on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm, at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover 519-583-1530, followed by a Memorial Service in the funeral home Chapel at 1 pm.
