<p>Maria M. Melo, 84, of East Providence, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. She was the wife of the late Manuel L. Melo.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Quatro Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose M. and Maria De Jesus (Godinho) De Costa.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Melo worked as a jewelry assembler for many years before retiring. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony’s Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Society. She enjoyed sitting by the water, cooking and spending time with family. She was a very religious person with a strong belief in her faith. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who cherished her family and cared for others and would help anyone in need.</p><p><br></p><p>She leaves one daughter, Paula DeMelo and her fiancée Mario Ferreira of East Providence, and the family dog, Violet. She was the sister of the late Jose Costa.</p><p><br></p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony’s Church, 32 Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours respectfully omitted.</p><p><br></p>
