Henry Andrew Thresher Obituary

Henry A. Thresher, 93, of West Shore Road, Warwick, formerly of Puritan Drive, passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick. He was the husband of the late Beverly L. (Sansom) Thresher.


Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Clifford E. Sr, and Phebe W. (Bray) Thresher.


Henry worked for Citizens Bank for 44 years as a Production Control Analyst for 39 years before retiring in 1993.He was a long-time member of Norwood Baptist Church in Warwick, where he had served on the committee responsible for the building and property. He was a member of the US Army Reserve and served as an Assistant Scout Master for the former Troop 8 in Cranston. Henry was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge F & AM, Taunton (formerly the Netop Lodge), the Providence Chapter No. 1, O.E.S. and was an Advisory Board member to the Narragansett Chapter, Order of DeMolay. A loving granddad, he never missed a softball game, concert, scouting ceremony or any activity involving his grandchildren.


He is survived by his children, Andrew S. Thresher and his wife Cynthia Saunders of Exeter and Audrey L Bell and her husband George of Warwick and four grandchildren, Samantha Snyder (Mike), Kelsey Bell, Ian Thresher, and Noah Thresher. He was a brother of the late Clifford E. Thresher and P. Elizabeth “Betty” Hayes.


At Henry’s request, his Funeral Services and Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory made to the Norwood Baptist Church, 48 Budlong Avenue, Warwick, RI 02888 will be appreciated.
