Patsy Hawkins Johnson Obituary

Mrs. Patsy Hawkins Johnson, age 94, of 1679 Mudbridge Rd., Jonesville, widow of Henry Johnson, passed away May 13, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Johnson, a beloved member of our community. She was born on September 26, 1929 in Asheville, North Carolina, the cherished daughter of the late James Wilson "J.W." Kingsmore and Grace Peterson Kingsmore.

Mrs. Johnson dedicated many years of her life to serving others. She retired from United Merchants, Buffalo Plant, but her true calling was in her unwavering devotion to her faith and community. As a long-standing member of West Springs Baptist Church, she touched the lives of so many through her roles as a beloved Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, and active participant in the Coleen West Missions Group and Golden Rule Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Johnson's kind and generous spirit extended beyond the church walls, as she volunteered at the local hospital and brought joy to the residents of nursing homes through her beautiful singing voice. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the late James H. Hawkins.

Though she has been called to her eternal home, Mrs. Johnson's legacy of love, service, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she blessed. She will be deeply missed, but the memories she leaves behind will continue to inspire and uplift our community.

She is survived by three grandsons, Nicholas Max Page, Bradley Hawkins Page and Adam Christopher Page; a son-in-law, Max Page; great grandchildren, Ava Catherine Page, Vivian Rose Page, Ella Wesley Page, Emery Grace Page, Ensley Hawkins Page, Graham Hawkins Page, and Emmett Henry Page. She was predeceased by two daughters, Jilda Grace Hawkins and Sandra Kay Hawkins Page, and two sisters, Mary Lou Lunsford, and Betty Jean Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2024 at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Mike Thomas and Rev. Daniel Godfrey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

Memorials may be made to West Spring Baptist Church, 4811 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Pauline, SC 29374.
