CANDILORO, JOHN of Goodrich, Michigan: died on May 14, 2024. He was 76. John was born March 30, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Vincenzo and Rosa (nee: Borgesi) Candiloro. He married the former Patricia Ellen McCarville on November 15, 1969 in Livonia, Michigan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patty Candiloro; one daughter, Rosa (Carl) Saunders; one son, Tony (Melany) Candiloro; five grandchildren, Aimee (Tyler) Peterson, Holly (C.J.) Harsen, Aaron Saunders, Aubrey Candiloro and Johnny Candiloro; two great grandchildren, Charlotte Harsen and Cade Peterson; one brother, James (Debra) Candiloro. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army-Vietnam serving as a radio operator. A longtime member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and the church choir. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus-Fr. Ging Council, Burton DAV, Ortonville VFW and General Motors Overseas Operation (GMOO). He served as the treasurer of F Co. 52nd Infantry (LRRP) I Co.75th Ranger Regiment. He retired after 39 years at G.M. He coached softball and baseball thru the BGO for many years and was an avid Red Wings fan. He also was a Hospice Volunteer by doing data entry. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. Fr. Dave Howell, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME 135 South Street, Ortonville, Michigan with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Visitation 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Ortonville Community Emergency Fund, P.O. Box 282 Ortonville, Michigan 48462. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
