Susan Anne Walker Obituary

In loving memory of Susan Anne (Wasylenko) Walker, 71, a kind and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to caring for others.

Sue passed away on May 13, 2024 in Niles Michigan, preceded in death by her husband Charles Bruce Walker (2023).

Sue was born on August 7, 1952 to the late John and Mary Louise (Gebhard) Wasylenko. Sue’s memory will be lovingly preserved through her cherished son, Mark (Amanda) Walker; siblings Jeanie (Jeff) Duncan, Rick (Paula) Wasylenko, and Terri Connett; dear friends Marti Piper and Merri Terborgh; and so many other beloved friends and family.

Sue spent her youth tending to her family and serving as a dedicated social worker, touching countless lives with her kindness and empathy. Whether baking treats, offering to help, or just checking in, she had a knack for bringing light to the darkness when her loved ones needed her. Sue was an avid reader and watcher of horror novels and movies, a hobby she shared with her closest friends and her son. Sue also possessed a deep love for nature, finding solace in collecting rocks and shells, and delighted in exploring the shores of the Great Lakes.

Though she may have left this world, Sue's spirit of compassion and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in eternal peace alongside her beloved husband.

Visitation for Sue will be on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm with a Memorial Service to be held at 12:00pm at Brown Funeral Home, 521 East Main St. Niles, MI 49120.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
