Age 85, of Penn Hills, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 following a lengthy illness; Beloved wife of the late Donald Coyle, and Ralph J. Palumbo; Mother of Rena (Todd) Novak, Michelle (Robert) Celedonia, and Michael (Kelley) Palumbo; Grandmother of Kyle Novak, and Zachary Celedonia (Kristen Jeke); Sister of the late Nancy (Joseph) Liscotti; also survived by nieces and nephews including Rose MacDonell, who lovingly cared for Sophia.  She was one of the original residents of Emerald Hills of Verona where she built cherished friendships.  She was a member of their friendship club, was a regular at their Tuesday night Bingo game, and enjoyed the ladies card club.  She was a very social woman and looked forward to going out with her friends to various restaurants.  A refined woman, Sophia was a fashionista in her own right, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and grace.  Friends received, Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8pm at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd./ Roth Chapel, 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills,  where a Service will be held, Friday, 11:00am.  Interment in Good Shepherd Cemetery.  To honor Sophia's memory, donations may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, Pennsylvania Delaware Valley, 411 Swedeland Road, Suite 23-1080, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
