Calvin William Thompson Obituary

The family is filled with great sadness at the loss of Calvin W. Thompson, 62, of Front Royal, VA. He passed away on May 4, 2024. His death was unexpected.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Rita Thompson, his brother, Gary Thompson and sister, Brenda Thompson.

He leaves to mourn: his sisters, Estelle Thompson and Ann Washington (Kevin), his sons, Landon Bradford Thompson and Leon Benjamin Thompson. Calvin also leaves his Aunt Mary Hill and a host of cousins and first cousins to cherish his memory.

Calvin really loved his sons and spent time with them on the weekends.

He thoroughly enjoyed his career as a truck driver and spending time with his coworkers.

Away from work Calvin spent time with his numerous close friends.

Calvin loved fried chicken and potato salad. Ann and Kevin had a running joke! Calvin calling, asking “What you having for dinner, Ann?” and Ann answering; “Fried chicken.” He was happy and would ask Ann to make him two sandwiches and a bottle of water. She would say “Okay,” and he would say, “See you soon,” and would call when he was on his way. Ann would tell Calvin he, "needed to cut down and start eating salad” as he was on the road a lot. Calvin said, “I know, the doctor put me on a diet,” and Ann would say, “Good Calvin."

He will be greatly missed and he was a good brother.

We will see our brother in the new world to come and we can all be together again as a family.

The family appreciates all the support, calls or help, if any kind, during this most difficult time.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 23rd from 6-8:00 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, VA, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 24th at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
