LaNeshia June Martinez Obituary

LaNeshia June Martinez

March 7, 1978 – April 29, 2024

Ms. LaNeshia June (Pooh) Martinez, 46, of Moreno Valley, California, formerly of Nashville, Arkansas passed away in Riverside, California, after a long bout with health concerns.  She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She was born on March 7, 1978, in Riverside California to Mr. Raymond Orlando Maritnez and Ms. Wanda Denise Sconiers.  She spent her younger years in Southern California and moved to Arkansas with her two older daughters when she was in her twenties.  She lived in Arkansas for twelve years and built some life-lasting relationships before moving back to California.  She gave birth to two other wonderful children later in life.  She loved beach trips, which was her primary motive for moving back to California.

Pooh was known for her beautiful spirit, warm smile, and loving heart.  She loved hard and touched the lives of those around her by being such a loving person.  She took friendships and relationships seriously.  She was a very loyal friend and expected the same of others.   She was a dedicated and devoted follower of Christ and became a member of 16th Street Seventh Day Adventist Church in 2014.  As many of us do, she lived life and wasn’t as dedicated and she felt she should have been so in 2022, she rededicated her life back to Christ.  While living in Arkansas, she spent all twelve years as an employee of Tyson Foods in Nashville, Arkansas.  When she moved back to California, she spent the years she was able to work as a security guard, which she did until her health conditions forced her to not be able to work.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ms. Rose Hinton, her grandfather, Mr. Theodore Sconiers, her paternal grandparents, her uncles, Mr. Nano Martinez, Mr. Ranno Martinez, Mr. Ronald Robinson, and Mr. Daryl Sconiers.

She is survived by and leaves to cherish her many memories and legacy, three daughters, Ms. Nyzhane Martinez, of Nashville, Arkansas, Ms. NyShani Martinez and Ms. Janaiyah Martinez and her only son Mr. Elijah Martinez all of Moreno Valley, California.  He parents, Ms. Wanda Sconiers of Mineral Springs, Arkansas and Mr. Raymond Martinez of Moreno Valley, California.  Five sisters, Mrs. Lakieeshaa Walker (Gerald) of Texarkana, Arkansas, Ms. Ticarra Martinez of Ohio, Ms. Alyssia Bryant of Texarkana Texas, Ms. Marquise Bryant of Mineral Springs, Arkansas, and Ms. Sonora Gillespie of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Two very handsome grandsons who lovingly identified her as “Gaga.”  A host of other friends, relatives, family members and friends.

She especially got joy out of spending time with her childhood friends, Catrina Whitaker, Chavonte Fields and Samantha Green, she built a special bond in Arkansas with Mrs. Alicia Hamilton-Thompson and identified all of these ladies as her sisters.

Her service will be held at Marantha Baptist Church, 300 Trenton Blvd., Nashville, Arkansas 71852 on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with burial at Sunset Gardens in Nashville, Arkansas.  Masks are optional but highly recommended for the sake of health, safety and the well-being of those around us.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to support her children, directly to Hamilton-Davis Funeral Home at (870) 533-2802.
