Early in the morning May 7th, 2024, my wife, my best friend and the love of my life for 44 years of marriage, dating thru High School for four years before that: Lisa Mikels Skiles at 62 gave up the fight for her life, and went on to be with the Lord Jesus. She leaves her grieving husband: James R Skiles of Knoxville, her one child Danielle Nichole Skiles (Nikki) of Oak Ridge, to somehow find their way thru life without the loving spirit and soul that Lisa was on earth. She will be painfully missed by her family and so many others whom she had touched during her life. Lisa was successful in a variety of careers she worked in and around. Her latest was as a medical assistant at a local Doctors office here in Knoxville. Before moving to the medical profession, she worked at ETHRA with Blount County Corrections as a counselor with the Drug and Alcohol program. Earlier she worked with Child and Family services as a Drug and Alcohol counselor there as well. For two years proceeding Child and Family she worked with the Dogwood Arts where her outgoing personality was allowed to shine and helped develop her into the person she became. After being married in 1980 she worked thru and became a licensed cosmetologist. She worked as a Hairdresser for several years before moving on. Lisa was a Christian woman, full of life, love and compassion. She gave her life to the Lord Jesus in her early teens and lived her Life accordingly thru out. Her smile could light up any room, her wit could keep u laughing. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind two brothers: Jimmy Ray Mikels, his wife Sheila and family of Knoxville. Tony Mikels and wife Julie and family of the Atlanta area. A sister: Susan Mikels Johnson, her husband Greg and their family in Chattanooga.
Preceded in death by Her father: Jim Mikels Sr. and mother: Peggy Dykes Mikels who both resided together in Knoxville. Many others including grand parents that have gone on; along with a large living family too large to list individually. May God Bless Lisa's memory, her family and all concerned.
Family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 4:00-6:00pm with a service to follow at 6:00pm at Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel.
