Marie Nancy Fleig Obituary

Marie Nancy Fleig, who always went by Nancy, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Monday morning, May 13, 2024. She was born at home on March 1, 1931; she was 93 years old. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Albert and Santa Fusaro, her brother Michael Fusaro (Jean) and her sisters, Carmella Beuto (Robert), and Angelina Kelly. She was also pre-deceased in 2019, by her husband Earl V. Fleig, who was a sailmaker and owner of American Sailmakers. They were married for 69 years. She was the beloved mother of Sandra McAndrews (William), Kathleen Fleig (Richard Goldstein), Betsy Barber (William) and Amy Sherman (Patrick). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: James, Liam, Joseph, Rachel, Walter, Brendan, Jack, Dylan and Emma, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law, William Kelly.

Nancy worked for over forty years as the lunch room monitor at North Mianus School, a job she really enjoyed. Nancy was a homebody who enjoyed being home with her family, baking, gardening, watching t.v. and doing word searches. She will be greatly missed and may she rest in peace.
