Lanny Joseph “Joe” Coffey, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Lexington VA Medical Center. He was 77.

Born June 4, 1946, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late James Walter Coffey and Dorothy Mathews Coffey. Joe was a former stockman for Kroger. He was a member of the Bruce’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Joe was a United States Navy Veteran. He loved horse racing, rabbit hunting, and the Cincinnati Reds.

Survivors include his sons, Kyle (and Kendra) Coffey of Demossville, KY and Kelly Coffey of Warsaw, KY; brothers, Jim (and Lydia) Coffey of Liberty, Jack (and Susan) Coffey of Knoxville, TN, and Jerel Coffey of Harrodsburg; and 4 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, May 19, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Mickey Roy officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 2:00PM at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Spaw and Jim, Jack, Jerel, Kyle, and Noah Coffey.

Memorial contributions are suggested to either the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
