Vearl Richard Shepherd of Loveland. Beloved husband of 38 years to the late Elvena (nee Monday) Shepherd. Loving father of Tammy Stivers and Denise VonBargen. Proud grandfather of Shelly (Sean) Harmon, Melissa (Steve) Alsip, and Tessa Wilkinson. Great grandfather of Reese Alsip, Toby Alsip, Juniper Alsip, and the late Leighanna Harmon. Dear brother of the late Donald Shepherd, Samuel (Carol) Shepherd, Mildred (Kenny) Delk, and Jerry Shepherd. Brother-in-law of Boots Foley, Polly (the late Carl) Monday, and the late Randall Monday and Elva (David) Allen. Dear uncle of Kathy Shepherd, Mike Shepherd, Brian Shepherd, Beth Shepherd, David Shepherd, Chip Miller, Sandy Canaster, Barbie Miller, Craig Delk, Billy Miller, Fawn Pierce, Lee "Bub" Monday, Jenny Wallace, Jeff (Dallas) Allen, Melanie Arnold, Angie Dawn, Kevin Foley, Laurie Bryant, Heather Slavey, Lona Woodrum, Shawn Monday, and the late Carla Monday. Also survived by his former son-in-law Rocky VonBargen. Passed away May 5, 2024, at the age of 83.


Vearl served as a Marine Police Officer while he served in the United States Marine Corp. He was proud of his service to our country and has a brick at the Loveland Veterans Park. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and gardening. At home, Vearl loved cooking, watching tv and relaxing in his recliner. He will be remembered as being strong-willed and always willing to help. He was outgoing, loved being around people, was a hard worker and never gave up no matter how hard things were. He will be greatly missed.


A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 20 at 12 PM at Kerr Cemetery, Loveland.
