West Brookfield - Roger L. Plante, 89, of West Brookfield, died on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.

 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jeanette Plante; his daughters, Mary L. Para, Karen E. Davis and her husband Randy, and Patricia A. Saunders and her husband Bill. Roger was predeceased by his son, Roger L. “Butch” Plante, Jr., in 2013; by his sister, Rita Johnson; and by his brother, Raymond Plante.  He also leaves 11 grandchildren - Jeffery, David, Cindy, Andrea, Timmy, Chris, Amanda, Lynn, Paul, Matthew, and Nicholas; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Louis and Louise A. (Favreau) Plante.

 

Mr. Plante is a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. 

 

Known as “Mr. Sunroof,” Roger worked as a glazier for National Glass Manufacturing.

 

A Funeral Mass for Roger will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00am in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 22 West Main St., in West Brookfield.  A reception will be held in the Hitchcock Tavern in West Brookfield following the mass. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park at a later date.
