Palmer Calderone Obituary

Palmer “Cal” Calderone, 91, of Worthington, passed away on Friday May 10 th , 2024, in the early morning after a brief illness at Legacy Dublin Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the facility and staff for their care of Palmer.
He was born April 9th, 1933, in Warren, and was the son of Thomas and Anna DeSantis Calderone.
Palmer was a 1951 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He served in the United States Military  before attending and graduating from The Ohio State University as a Mechanical Engineer. He worked at American Electric Power until his retirement and made great friends that kept in touch with each other throughout the years.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church Parish. He enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoyed gardening; and in earlier days, enjoyed running for exercise. Palmer also enjoyed researching his family heritage and traveling to Italy to find distant relatives.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruby Holt Calderone,, step-children, Karl Crabtree and Karen Edwards, along with their families. Although Palmer did not have his own children, he was a loving and encouraging man who loved his wife and step-family, along with his siblings and their families very much.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas M. “Tex” Calderone, David Calderone, Freddie Calderone, Clarence “Sledge” Calderone, and Michael “Fibber” Calderone, and three sisters, Matilda Calderone, Rita Scattino and Lucille Stabile. 
Friends may call Saturday from 11AM up until the time of the 11:30AM funeral service at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles with Fr. Steven Agostino officiating.
Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Niles, Ohio where Cal will be honored for his military services.
Arrangements are being handled by The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.
