Pansy Janette Barbee Dennis, 88, of Norwood, passed away peacefully at her home, early Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Rev. Hanna Barlow will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Dennis was born on December 31, 1935 in Stanly County to the late Cleve and Dorothy Marie Barbee Coxton. She was a sewer at America Lockstitch and a member at Randall United Methodist Church. Pansy loved to garden and enjoyed canning. She was well known for baking cakes and pies and made sure to pass on her recipes to her family. She loved Christmas time and enjoyed decorating for the season. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Dennis; son, Darrell Dennis; grandson, Adrian Dennis; and brother John Edwards.

She is survived by her son, Danny Dennis (Leigh Ann) of Albemarle; three grandchildren: Derek Dennis (Lori), Alec Dennis, and Sam Dennis (Paige); and seven great-grandchildren: Gage, Riley. Korbin, Silas, Zachary, Caleb, and Van.
