Mrs. Brenda K. (Mead) Sommerfield, age 77, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Born on January 9, 1947, in Fagus, Missouri, to Thomas and Gladys Mead, Brenda lived a life filled with warmth, dedication, and a remarkable connection with people. Most of all she devoted her life to Jesus. She served a life laid down in compassion and love that is truly biblical and one to emulate. Brenda was a woman of many talents and passions. She dedicated her professional life to various roles, including a retired bank teller for Perkins State Bank, Friendly Home Parties, a model, a realtor, and a healthcare provider. Her diverse career path reflected her versatility and eagerness to explore different avenues. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Brenda leaves behind cherished memories for her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Edward Sommerfield, their son Nathanial (Jennifer) Sommerfield, and their daughter Crysynda (Glenn) Bailey. Brenda's legacy continues through her 8 grandchildren: Joshua (Sarai) Roberts, Kaitlin (Jason) Dean, Autumn (Jesse) Post, Alexandra (Mike) Kneur, Christian (Rebekah) Reichle, Elijah (Kara) Reichle, Brice Sommerfield, and Jordyn Sommerfield; and her 13 great-grandchildren. Beyond her professional accomplishments and family life, Brenda was known for her exceptional ability to connect with people. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine interest in others made her a cherished friend and confidante to many. To honor Brenda's memory and celebrate her extraordinary life, a celebration of life will be held 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Calvary Church in Inverness. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Brenda's vibrant spirit and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.
