Floyd Edward Howard Rowe Obituary

Floyd Edward Howard Rowe, 65, of Bonanza, Arkansas, passed away on May 13, 2024. He was born in August 5, 1958, to the late Joe and Charlene Rowe.

On April 22, 1984, Floyd married Debra (Dugan) Rowe, his loving wife of 40 years. Together they raised five children:  John Whittaker and Jeff (Robin) Whittaker of Huntington, Arkansas; Leighton Whittaker of Cameron, Oklahoma; Sabrina Chappell of Hackett, Arkansas and Eric (Kim) Rowe of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Known affectionately as Papa, Floyd's legacy includes his grandchildren:  Tyler Chappell of Mansfield, Arkansas; Paige (Nick) Robison of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; Blayde (Skylar) Chappell and Kenadi Wright of Midland, Arkansas; Mitchell (Emily) Whittaker of Arkoma, Oklahoma; Tanner Wright, McKenzie Tale, Ryleigh and Dutton Rowe of Fort Smith Arkansas; Sierra (Cody) Bauer, Paytynn and Bayleigh Rowe of Van Buren, Arkansas.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren:  Timber Chappell, Emmet Robison, Brickley, Tenley, Knox, Tuff, and Paisley Chappell; Raelyn, Lily, and Bella Bauer; and Kole and Khloe Whittaker.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Debra, of the home; his siblings:  Darlene (Don) Perkins of Waldron, Arkansas; John Rowe, Joe (Renita) Rowe, Vicky (Rick) Decker, all of Bonanza, Arkansas; Rebecca Walker of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Elizabeth (Lawrence) Woolsey of Coal Hill, Arkansas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Charlene Rowe, his younger sister, Carolyn Rowe, his grandparents Lawrence and Ida Banning, and Ed and Pauline Rowe, one nephew Eric Walker, and several aunts and uncles.

Floyd was a cherished member of the community. He served as a bus driver for Hackett Schools, as well as, a police officer and council member for the city of Bonanza. He also worked many years driving a dump truck and operating heavy machinery, in addition to working at Baldor.

Floyd loved fishing with Blayde and Timber, sitting under a shade tree and watching Emmet play with his trucks, and sharing a special treat of Tootsie Rolls with Knox. When Knox would see his Papa, he would eagerly run out to greet him, because he knew that Papa would have a Tootsie Roll for him. He enjoyed sitting on his porch, visiting with family and friends, telling stories and jokes, and sharing his life's wisdom.
