Jim M. DeLeon Obituary

Jimmy Michael DeLeon, Jim, JD, dad or Grandpa Jim, to those who loved him, was born on May 10, 1942 in Austin, Texas to Mack and Beatrice DeLeon. He was their first born but son became a big brother to Gloria, Mack, Hector and Sam, the siblings he was so proud of and loved so dearly. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, and having his daughter Stephanie, Jim moved to Fort Worth in the early 70s. This is where his son Matthew was born. His genius problem-solving skills and go-getter work ethic, led to many different career paths and homes in several cities in Texas and Hoover, Alabama. Jim was a collector and really enjoyed the late-night shopping channels, but he rarely ordered for himself, except for those dang vitamins! He was a giver. He loved listening to the needs of those he loved, so that he could get a big smile and let them know that he had just the thing to help them out! Jim was funny, quirky, and endlessly kind. He loved to travel and made friends with people he met along the way. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Margie DeLeon. He is survived by daughter Stephanie and her husband Rick Bowman, sons Matthew DeLeon and Ray Marquez, grandsons Brock Bowman, Brett Bowman, Brendan Bowman, Bryce Bowman and Brady Bowman. Siblings Mack and Pattie Roe, Hector and Arleigh DeLeon, Sam and JoJo DeLeon. Visitation will be at Assumption Cemetery Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to noon, with funeral service at noon. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Funeral Service Saturday, July 30, 2022 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Assumption Cemetery 3650 S. I.H. 35 Austin, Texas 78704
