Jimmy Jefferson Moore, 88, of Yatesville, Georgia passed away May 13, 2024 at Heritage Inn in Barnesville.


Mr. Moore was born April 15, 1936 in Woodbury, Georgia to the late Loucile Bishop Moore and Thomas Jefferson Moore. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Moore was known to be a workaholic and ran and operated Jimmy’s Paint and Repair from 1980 until 2008, when his son took over the business. He was a devoted member of the American Legion in Barnesville, enjoyed westerns, old country music, Nascar, wrestling, and just getting in his truck to ride. He was a Mason and served in Kiwanis in his younger days. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Margaret Reagan, Betty Kay Crews, Tommie Wells, Grace Reagan, Celena Wheeler, and James Moore; and great-granddaughter, Ember Gray Adams.


Survivors include his children, Jory (Barry) Tidwell of Yatesville, GA, Jeff (Gwen) Moore, Jr. of Barnesville, GA, Jerry Moore of Barnesville, GA and Jonna Johnson of Barnesville, GA; grandchildren, Jade Moore, Jenna Dunaway, Jayla Hodges, Jacey Adams, Jamiee Tidwell, Jordan McMillan, John Will Moore, Josh Price, and Jessica Crane; nine great-grandchildren; and close friends, Bob Richardson and Dr. C. Wayne Dodgen.


The funeral service will be held 4:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024 in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Manchester with Pastor Jimmy Grier officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Warm Springs. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
