Alvis "Bucky" Worthen, Jr. Obituary

Alvis “Bucky” Worthen, Jr., 55, of Bearden, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at home.

If there is a muscle car in heaven, "Bucky" is deciding which wheels will look best hunkered under its fenders.

And the engine -- it’s got to be tuned perfectly, paired with a roaring exhaust system. The louder, the better.

Bucky will get it done.

He was born on March 25, 1969, in Pine Bluff, son of Alvis Worthen Sr. and Francine Worthen.

He was raised in Pine Bluff and East Texas, graduating from Rivercrest High School in Bogata, Texas, in 1988.

Bucky always had a wrench in his hand and an old fixer-upper in the garage -- gasoline and oil made up his cologne.

He could turn a bucket of rust into a show car and make it run like new.

Bucky also nursed a love for antique toys, especially those with rolling wheels.

During his early years, he won numerous model car contests with his hand-made kits. In his adult years, he owned, sold and built around a dozen hot rod/muscle cars.

Bucky had a huge heart and loved animals, especially cats.

He was hot-tempered at times -- as anyone who knew him will attest -- but he would do anything to help his friends and family.

Bucky was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie; son, Jory; brother, John; stepson, Kevin Brown; aunt, Kathryn Ramick; cousin Stewart Ramick (Sharon); cousin Maddie Ramick; and cousin Jason Ramick.

Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. Interment will be private at a later date.
