Booneville, KY Dr. James D. Thomas, D.C., age 77, husband of Winifred (Moffett) Thomas, passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at his residence in Sturgeon, KY surrounded by his loving family.James was born in Reno, Marietta Township, Washington County, Ohio on August 8, 1934, a son of the late Howard and Della (Hadley) Thomas. He was a former construction worker until a life altering accident occurred while saving a fellow construction workers life requiring him to change careers at the age of 53 where he then graduated from the Parker University College of Chiropractic as a brilliant and talented Chiropractor owning his own practice in Hamilton, Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and through all of his endeavors, his faith in God was the beacon that guided him. He dedicated his life to serving God and will be remembered for his steadfast love and quiet strength. His dedication to his loved ones and his enduring commitment to those he loved will forever remain with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, 2 adoring daughters; Selena Lee Staffa of Garland, TX, and Summer Joy (Brent) Yarbrough of Booneville, KY, 3 brothers; Virgil Thomas of Booneville, KY, Denzil Thomas of Millersburg, OH, and Kenneth Thomas of Tucson, AZ, 2 sisters; Luella Kibbey of Booneville, KY, and Lenora Lohman of Austin, TX, 2 grandchildren; Jordan Staffa and Brooke Staffa along with many other loving family members and friends.James was preceded in death by his parents.Graveside Services will be held at the Oak Rest Cemetery, Medina, Texas on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
