Booneville, KY - Pearl (Brewer) McCollum, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2011. She was 97 years and 7 months old.The widow of R.B. McCollum was born March 12, 1914 to the late Howell and America (Sparks) Brewer.She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she played piano and organ and taught Sunday school for many years. Pearl was a teacher and homemaker gave private piano and organ lessons. She had a passion for gardening and working on her farm.She is survived by 1 son; Bob McCollum (Jean), 3 grandsons; Rob McCollum (Debbie), Rodney McCollum (Diana) and Richard McCollum, 1 grandaughter; Rebecca Strauchen (Steve), 2 great grandsons; Ethan McCollum and Liam McCollum, 1 brother; Theodore Brewer, 2 sisters; Norma Bennett and Iona Hobbs and many other loving family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2011 with Pastor David Medcalf officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Booneville Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Brewer - McCollum Cemetery. The family asks that donations be made to Hospice, Booneville Health Care Center, or charity of your choice.
