Antonino “Tony” Busa, of Needham, Massachusetts died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was 92.

Born in Messina, Sicily on April 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Lavinia (Bonfiglio) Busa. He arrived in the United States when he was 21 and immediately entered the US Army. Tony graduated from Boston University in 1959 and Northeastern University in 1965 with degrees in Physics and Engineering, respectively. He worked for 35 years at Sylvania/GTE as an electrical engineer.

In his spare time, he was an avid sports fan, enjoyed coaching soccer, and bowling.  He also had a passion for drawing and spent many hours creating beautiful pencil compositions. Additionally, he and his wife Lucy enjoyed traveling all over the world for many years.

Family was the most important part of Tony’s life. He treasured spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was affable and always willing to selflessly help others.

Tony was the proud father of John Busa and his wife Cyndy of York, Maine, Mark Busa and his wife Mary of Needham, and Andrew Busa and his wife Diane of Millis.  He was the loving grandfather of Nicole (Busa) Lyon and her husband Thomas, Jacqueline Busa, Mitchell Busa and his wife Erika, Harrison Busa, Michael Busa, Amanda Busa, Jeffrey Busa, and David Busa.

Tony was the brother of Josephine “Pina” Sergi and her late husband Guy, the late Maria Busa, and the late Joseph Busa and his late wife Carol.
