Linda Marie Skinkle Obituary

Linda M. Skinkle, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of 5/13/2024.. Linda lived at Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the past 9 years. Linda was born and raised in Saratoga Springs NY and attended local schools. Until she moved to Utica NY in 1977. Linda held many jobs over her younger years in and around Utica, NY until her first bout with cancer that forced her to retire in 1994. She courageously fought and beat cancer 2 times in her life.

Linda, is survived by her 2 cherished daughters Vadra and Tyra, and 5 grandchildren, whom she loved to the moon and back. Vadra’s children Aniya, Andru, Marqus. and LaSean. As well as Tyra’s son Ethan. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. And her cousins she spent summers with on the “HILL”. Linda is also survived by many friends whom she loved so very much. Sheila Holliman whom she shared over 40 years of friendship and Paula McRorie whom she shared 36 years of friendship with. As well as “adopted kids” through the years. Especially noting Chanel, Rebecca and Jessica Rose, as well as many others. All the kids, her daughters brought home through the years called Linda, Mommy. And she wouldn't have had it any other way.

Linda had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren, always cheering them on, be it sports, concerts, or just any activity. She loved hearing about it and watching videos of all of them, but with Aniya being the only girl. Linda was overjoyed when Aniya took up crocheting and they gave one another pointers. It was a shared love between them.

Linda is pre-deceased by her mother H. Vera, and father George Skinkle. Her sister Lois, brothers Edward and Garry Skinkle.

Vadra and Tyra would like to thank the staff of Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

for their care and compassion of their mother through out the years.
