Derrill Fadler Obituary

Derrill Fadler, 87, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his home.

He was born January 13, 1937, in Patton, Missouri, to August and Stella Madden Fadler. He was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Patton and was a 1955 graduate of Patton High School.

Derrill and Leola Deimund were married May 24, 1958, in Perryville, Missouri.  In 1960, they moved from Patton to Jackson, and became active members of the First Presbyterian Church, where Derrill was an elder and deacon, and served in other capacities where he could use his construction skills.

Derrill was an accomplished woodworker but did all kinds of local residential and commercial construction.  He concluded his career with Jackson R-2 Schools, first working in maintenance, and then as a free-lance carpenter, making custom cabinetry and shelves.

Derrill and Leola liked to camp with their family and friends.  They also liked taking bus tours, and Derrill continued to enjoy mowing, landscaping, and woodworking.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly 66 years, Leola Fadler of Jackson; three sons, David (Kathy) Fadler, Rodney Fadler, and Mark (Tia) Fadler, all of Jackson; grandchildren and their families:  Justin (Wesleyann) Fadler and children Jensen and Wade; Matthew (Kyndal) Fadler and children Mason and Logan; Evan Fadler and daughter Aubrey; Shelby Huskey and children Luna and Willow; and Conner Fadler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Jean Proctor; and a brother, Audrey Lee (Audrey June) Fadler.

Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Charles Buck will conduct the funeral service at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Patton Cemetery.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests the Presbyterian Church in Jackson, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
