Sebec, ME – David Fred Morse, 92, passed away May 9, 2024, peacefully at his home with his wife at his side. He was born April 23, 1932, in Montpelier, VT, the son of John and Ruth (Weeks) Morse.


David was raised in Calais Vermont, where he lived his entire life. He was in Maine with his wife at the time of his passing. He was raised on the family’s homestead dairy farm that had been settled by his ancestors in the 1700’s. He dairy farmed for most of his life, and when not dairy farming he trained and boarded horses. Horses were his passion and he was sought after for his horse training and continued to do that well into his 70’s.


David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathryn Saunders; two sons, Peter Morse and David L. Morse and wife, Anne; two daughters, Sheila Morse and Valerie Morse; six stepchildren, Gabriel Spence and wife, Zoe, Katie Spence, William Spence and wife, Gillian, Anna Spence, Luke Spence and wife, Amanda, and Abigail Spence; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie, Pearl, Lulu, Philip, Lena, Olivier, and Xavier; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings, Rachel Roy of Dunstable MA, Irving Morse of Englewood FL, Robert Morse of Kansas, Stanley Morse, and Kent Morse, both of Calais VT.
