Jean E. Voros Obituary

Jean E. Voros (Miller), age 91  of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024.  She had made her home with her son Mark, who was her caregiver for the past several years and continued caring for her during her time on Hospice.

She was born November 26, 1932, in Amherst, Ohio. where she lived until moving to Las Vegas in December 2000.  She returned to Lorain County in September 2003.  She graduated from Amherst High School in 1950.

She retired from Great Lakes Data Center in 1999 after fourteen years. She made wedding cakes and all occasion cakes prior to her employment at Great Lakes Data Center.  She owned and operated Fireland’s Ceramics from 1977 to 1988 and was a volunteer for Voices for Children for four years.  

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She enjoyed the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.  She was a superb homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking.

She is survived by her sons, Gene Voros (Yvonne)  of Amherst, Ohio, Mark Voros of Lorain, and Fred Voros of Stow, Ohio and her daughter Debby Voros of Clermont, Florida; her grandchildren, Dustin Voros, Natasha Vehr, Britney Leidenheimer and Devin Leidenheimer and great grandchildren, Nicholas Vehr, Elena Vehr, Connor Voros and Kelsea Voros.  

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-four years, Fred Voros, in 1993, her father Claude Miller in 1937, her mother Florence Schaeffer Miller Mulder in 1996 and her brother Claude Miller in 2017.  

Friends may call Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.   Funeral services will be held privately by the family.  Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com. Burial will follow at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
