Clement "Clem" DeRosier Jr. Obituary

Clement “Clem” G. DeRosier, age 81, of Fort Ripley passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at his residence.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at St. Mathias Catholic Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church and burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.

Clem was born on November 8, 1942 in Dothan, Alabama; the son of Clement and Leona (Wroolie) DeRosier.  He was a mischievous little boy and enjoyed spending summers with his grandparents.  Clem is a 1961 graduate of Brainerd High School, where he lettered in track.  He served in the Army National Guard from 1964 -1969.  Clem married Sally Allord on June 25, 1966, at St. Mathias Catholic Church.  He worked at Potlatch for 39 years until his retirement.  Clem loved his MN Vikings, trips to the casino, playing cards, gardening, watching the birds, and sitting in his garage socializing with neighbors. He walked strongly in his faith, attending church faithfully and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Clem was generous, loving, tremendous work ethic, provider; and above all else; a fantastic husband, dad, and grandpa.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Clem is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; Sally; children, Angela (Jeff) Simmonds, Michael (Liza) DeRosier; five grandchildren, Tyler and Zachary Simmonds, Amanda, Andrew, and Pearl Mallorca; seven great grandchildren, Grace-Lin, Silvia, Lillian, Tony, Aloralei, Alaina, Easton; sisters, Barbara (Vern) Litchy, and Mary (Gerald) Tschida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Leona DeRosier; stepfather, Melford Kurz; brother, Ronald DeRosier; and grandson, Joshua Simmonds.
