Donald Stephen Baranowski Obituary

Donald S. Baranowski, age 76, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, May 6th, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Donald, affectionately known as "Baran," was born on April 6, 1948, in South Amboy, New Jersey. A dedicated and industrious individual, he spent 30 years in the automobile business and also excelled in his second career in construction management. Renowned for his vast knowledge and problem-solving skills, Donald was the go-to person for advice long before the era of Google. His quick wit and unmatched humor earned him the title of "Class Clown" during his high school years, and his ability to captivate an audience with his stories and jokes was unparalleled. It's no surprise that everyone he encountered has a funny "Baran" story to share.

Outside of work, Donald found joy in exploring the world through travel and cherishing moments with his family, friends, and his five dogs. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Baranowski; devoted daughter, Allison Baranowski; adored granddaughter, Morgan Kathryn Cox; and siblings Maureen Martin, Joseph Baranowski, and Mark Baranowski, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at St. Brigid Catholic Church in Johns Creek, Georgia, on June 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life following the church service at Cherokee Town Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia; Road Dogg Rescue, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Alaqua Animal Refuge in Freeport, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations are invited to support Dr. Zachary Buchwald’s cancer research efforts in Emory University’s Department of Radiation Oncology, 1762 Clifton Rd., Suite 2400, Atlanta, GA 30322.
